Yogachaitanya has studied the Vedic sciences for nearly fifteen years, with his initial interest being sparked during competition training in surfing and karate, realizing the impact of Yoga techniques and meditation on training and daily life. During this time he has lived, studied, been initiated
and taken students to India, particularly the Bihar School of Yoga, the world’s first Yoga
University established by Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati.
More recently he has owned a yoga studio in Vancouver, Canada and released a series of Yoga and meditation CDs to assist people with daily practice (sadhana). He is writing books illustrating how the techniques
presented in this series can help develop and refine sporting and
artistic disciplines. Yogachaitanya is embarking on research with the meditation technique Yoga Nidra, aiming to show how it can assist physically challenged individuals reprogram body movement patterns. He is on faculty at Langara College in Vancouver, for their Yoga Teacher Training program.
He is a qualified Satyananda Yoga teacher, a Shamballa Reiki Master, has a 1st Degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, is a Vision Quest protector, holds a diploma in Construction and a BA (HONS) in Architecture. His teaching is focused towards the tantric meditations and pranayama techniques for yoga and meditation teachers and to athletes in training. He also continues to explore design of the built environment.
